| We stayed at this hotel in 2005 and 2006. Clean, reasonably priced, and most of the staff are friendly. I enjoyed breakfasts, but the evening meals soon appeared bland and monotonous. In '06 we were accused of using the Estreya Palace (4*) restaurant instead of the Estreya one. When the waitress from the Estreya backed us up, the humble pie was not forthcoming. Despite repeated requests to talk to the hotel manager, no manager would see us either. This left a bad taste in the mouth, so we won't be using the Estreya again, although it's not a bad hotel. |

HAVE JUST SPENT 3 NIGHTS AT THIS HOTEL AS PART OF A TOUR OF BULGARIA(MAY 30 2007).
AMAZING VALUE FOR MONEY..
SUPERB CLEAN, NEW LOOKING ROOM OF A 5 STAR QUALITY WITH A LARGE BALCONY. I ARRIVED EARLY IN MORNING AND HAD A NICE DRINK FROM THE WELL STOCKED MINI BAR IN ROOM WHICH INCLUDED ONE FIFTH OF LITRE BOTTLES OF VODKA, GIN, WHISKY AND BRANDY AT JUST 3 LEVS EACH...THAT WORKS OUT AT 8 OF OUR MEASURES OF SPIRIT IN ONE BOTTLE... AN AMAZING 15P PER SHOT! ALSO INCLUDED BEER, COKE ETC AT 1 LEV PER BOTTLE.(SORRY BUT I CONFESS...I ALSO HAD THE CHOCOLATE BAR WHICH WAS ALSO 1 LEV!)
AFTER A NICE BUFFET BREAKFAST I STEPPED OUT THE FRONT DOOR AND TURNED RIGHT AND WALKED FOR 2 MINUTES AND THEN CAME TO AN AREA WITH LOADS OF SHOPS, BARS/RESTAURANTS AND MARKET STALLS. THE NICE SANDY BEACH WAS JUST A FEW MINUTES MORE. FORGOT TO PACK MY BEACH TOWEL BUT NO PROBLEM AS THERE WERE LOADS ON SALE HERE AND I PICKED A NICE ONE UP FOR A FIVER.
VERY FRIENDLY RECEPTION STAFF AT THE HOTEL WHO SPOKE GOOD ENGLISH AND WERE VERY HELPFUL.
SHOULD THE NEED ARISE TO REVISIT THIS AREA THEN I WOULD HAVE NO HESITATION IN BOOKING THE ESTREYA AGAIN.

| Just looking up the hotel to recommend to colleagues. Amazed by previous comment. we enjoyed two weeks of excellent food and excellent service. There was always someone on reception who could speak English and we spent many a pleasant evening in the beautiful conservatory/dining area which continues to operate as a bar long into the evening. Would definitely consider going back and are more than happy to recommend this hotel to friends. |

| The hotel must have changed a lot since the last reviews were written. The dining room staff were cheerful and friendly but the food was disgusting and often unidentifiable; I stayed a week and every day the dessert was the same: yoghurt & tinned cherries (and for breakfast too!). The rooms and hotel in general were very clean and towels changed daily. The reception staff couldn't speak English & weren't at all helpful or friendly. There is no lounge or bar so when it rains you have to sit in your room or go elsewhere. |

| I have just returned from my third stay in the Estreya. The first two times I was there with my wife and three children, and the people -(as are all the Bulgarian people I have met!)- were very friendly and helpful. So, this time I took a friend who was doing some business. after a busy day, we were returning to our rooms when he realised that he no longer had the wallet containing £1,700.00 IN TWETY PPOUND NOTES!! He was unsure where he had lost it! Needless to say weretraced our steps back to Varna and through the city with no luck. Very despondent, we returned to the Hotel Estreya, and my friend and I went to the hotel bar. On mentioning his plight to the barman in broken English, the barman dissapeared in the back room, and returned with my friends wallet and ALL his money!!! The barman and waitresses wre all laughing (happy for my friend), because they had found it the previous night, but as there was no I.D. in it he had not known who it belonged to!!!! I don't think you would get that type of honesty anywhere else!! What a great place, and can't wait to return!!!!! DAVE & CLIVE |
